Ghana vs Latvia Match Preview

Ghana's second and last warm-up match ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup is a game against Latvia. This friendly encounter will take place at the Milton Keynes stadium in England and it has been scheduled to start at 14:00 GMT.

Ghana's goalkeeper Richard Kingson and defender Hans Edu Sarpei watch as Wesley Schneider gets past them. The Black Stars have no other option but to explain to Ghanaian fans why the nation should dare to dream big concerning Ghana's chances in South Africa. On Tuesday evening in Holland, the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations runners-up suffered a 4-1 whipping in the hands of the Dutch who didn't have to play extraordinarily.

Ghana put a performance well below the level expected by their supporters and they eventually got nothing more than what they deserved on the day. Whereas the momentum among Black Stars has gone down following the team's emphatic loss to the Netherlands, criticized manager Milovan Rajevac has opted to look nowhere but straigth forward in search of success.

Fortunately for the Serbian coach, none of his players were hit by injuries during their defeat to the Netherlands. Against Latvia, Milovan Rajevac may ask his players to take the same cautious approach in order to save their health for the 2010 World Cup. All the same, the result will have to be positive; one that will prove how much the Black Stars of Ghana have taken lessons out of the blow they suffered against the Dutch. Ghana will open their 2010 World Cup campaign on June 13 with a game against their coach's native country, Serbia.
