Watch La Lakers v Boston Celtics NBA Finals

The rivalry between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers involves the two most storied basketball franchises in National Basketball Association history. The rivalry had been less intense since the retirements of Magic Johnson and Larry Bird in the early 1990s, but in 2008 it was renewed as the Celtics and Lakers met in the Finals for the first time since 1987. The two teams will face off once again in the 2010 NBA Finals. The Celtics currently lead in total championships with 17 to the Lakers' 15; together, the two teams' 32 championships account for more than half of the 63 championships in NBA history.

The Los Angeles Lakers are the most skilled team in the NBA & through-out the 2010 playoffs have shown the world just why they are the best in the West, the defending champs, and back in the Finals for the third straight year ready to repeat. On the otherhand The Celtics are one heck of a team and have the talent to take this series the distance with Los Angeles.

2010 NBA Finals
In a rematch of the 2008 NBA Finals, the Lakers and Celtics will again play for the NBA Championship. Unlike 2008, however, the Lakers will be the team with home-court advantage. New players for both teams have entered the Finals picture, most notably the acquisition of Ron Artest by the Lakers. Boston's Rajon Rondo is also much improved over 2008 and how the Lakers defend him will be key to the series.
